Our Story

We’re the Kavathekar family, a highly educated, business family based in Pune, with a deep-rooted love for Konkan and Dapoli. Over 25 years ago, driven by our affection for this beautiful coastal region, we purchased a quaint bungalow built in traditional chira (local red stone). In March 2025, we gave it a thoughtful renovation, blending old-world charm with modern comforts — while preserving its soul.

A Place Full of Memories

For us, this isn’t just a property — it’s a part of our family’s story. Over the decades, we’ve created countless beautiful memories here. From hundreds of lively get-togethers with friends and family to long, lazy afternoons spent on the verandah, this home has witnessed it all. Our evenings are usually filled with music, conversations, games, and stargazing under the clear Konkan sky. No visit is complete without frequent trips to the nearby beaches, indulging in fresh fish thalis and our beloved local sweet, modaks. And while life gets busy, at least one family member makes sure to visit the bungalow every month, keeping the home filled with warmth, laughter, and stories waiting to be told.

Why We Want to Share It with You

Surrounded by nurseries, typical Konkan farms (wadis), and lush green vegetation, the bungalow wakes up to the sounds of various birds every morning. The drive from Pune is a breezy 4 to 4.5 hours along some of the best roads in Maharashtra — a journey we’ve come to love.

Being a business family, we felt it was time to share this little slice of Konkan with others. Saraswati Vinayak is our way of inviting you to experience the same joy, peace, and togetherness we’ve cherished for years.
